HIDDEN MANNA~Daily Bites: An Undeserved Curse

August 17

Like the sparrow in her wandering, like the swallow in her flying, so the CAUSELESS curse does not alight.  [an UNDESERVED curse does not come to rest.]   (Pro 26:2  AMP)   [Insert from NIV]  Emphasis mine.

Combining both these translations defines “an undeserved curse” as one we did nothing to cause.  And if undeserved, if we are not purposefully sinning and disobeying YHWH’s Word, our Father ensures that a “curse DOES NOT come to rest” upon us.  He sent Yeshua to take every curse with Him to the cross; through Him, our loving obedience to “the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit” separates us from every “curse” forever.  HalleluYah!  Glory to the Lamb of YHWH who TAKES AWAY the sins of the world!  (Gal 3:13; 1 John 1:29; 5:7; Deut 28)

Unfortunately, the mere mention of the word “curse” can evoke such fear in the hearts of believers—a controlling “spirit of fear” that’s NOT from our Elohim but from the devil (2 Tim 1:7)—we avoid delving any deeper in YHWH’s Word to learn more about this.  But since it’s lack of knowledge that destroys us (Hosea 4:10), and it’s only the truth we KNOW that has power set us free (John 8:32), let’s examine more closely what Abba-YHWH has to say about “curses” to reveal what that devil of old strives to keep hidden.  You see, our heavenly Father made it very simple for us to understand in His Word; it is HE that set “blessings” AND “curses” before us—not the devil!   And because our Elohim is a loving Father, He even told His children which one He wants us to choose: “blessing”!  (Deut 30:11-20)

When we interpret the “blessing” as “the power to succeed” and the “curse” as the “the power to fail”, surely we can see why YHWH wants us to choose “blessing”.  For a life of failure does not prove Him to be the good and merciful God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that He is, calling a hurting world to turn and follow Him.  That would be like someone saying, “Wow, I’m so impressed by your life of misery, illness, defeat and lack, I want to worship your God so I can live that way, too!”  Ridiculous.   In truth, our Father wants His people to live the kind of life He can bless because it gives Him pleasure to prosper those He loves in every area of their lives.  (Luke 12:32)

Since it is He who FIRST loved us, we can be certain our Father’s greatest heart's desire is to lead all His children to loving Him in return.  (1 John 4:19)  And when we do choose to love Him, when we love Abba-YHWH with all that we are and obey His Word, then we’ve chosen His “blessing” and all HIS power to succeed and, therefore, “an undeserved curse” with all its “power to fail” DOES NOT come to rest upon us, in the Name and by the redeeming Blood of Yeshua Ha’ Mashiach, Messiah Jesus of Nazareth, amen!

Yeshua answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him. “He who does not love Me does not guard My Words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father Who sent Me.  (John 14:23-24  HRVS)
