For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.    (Gen 2:24  NIV)

When a man and woman “become one flesh” in a marriage covenant, a brand new life-force is created, and the care required for this newly created life-force isn’t much different than caring for a newborn baby.  It must be nurtured in love and trust to be secure, fed good foods for optimum health, and for developing its newly formed muscles, this new life-force gains strength by working through ever-increasing resistance to various forms of challenges.

Anyone who’s ever worked out in a gym knows that resistance weight training is key for developing muscle mass and strength.  And, if done correctly, also knows it is NEVER comfortable.  In fact, it can be quite painful at times and, to be successful, it must be a consistent life choice.  Then, just when we might think we’ve mastered the highest achievement possible, the trainer coaxes us toward a whole new goal level for conquering what we thought impossible for us.  Maybe we even think we’re just too tired or already bearing too much to be capable of handling any more added weight, but as we begin to work it out something wonderful begins to happen if both are committed: not only will we notice a beautiful shape forming as our muscles labor to resist the ever-increasing weight, we will also notice greatly increased strength and stamina to withstand other opposing weights or powers—whether physical, emotional or spiritual—that come against us, as well.  Is it really any wonder, then, why Abba-YHWH allows our marriage life-forces to be “worked-out” in this same manner?   

You see, our heavenly Father highly esteems the covenant of marriage as an earthly example of our relationship with Messiah.  Therefore, because His Law of agreement ensures nothing shall be impossible for at least two children of Elohim agreed in His will, surely Abba-YHWH cheers from His Throne of Grace as we develop together, little by little, into MORE than conquerors in Yeshua Ha’ Mashiach, Messiah Jesus of Nazareth.  For it’s THROUGH US that YHWH’s kingdom COMES and His will is DONE on earth as it is in heaven.  Amen!
