…for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content…   (Phil 4:11  NKJV)

Practicing thoughts of contentment—capturing negative, complaining thoughts and giving thanks “IN” all things instead—is the greatest strategy of all for overcoming trials, tests and tribulations more swiftly…  (2 Cor 10:5; Phil 2:14; Eph 5:20)

Rabbi Levi Meier writes in Ancient Secrets:

An old Jewish tale tells of a poor farmer who had a large family that was crammed together in a small space, making life very uncomfortable.  The farmer went to his rabbi for advice.  The rabbi told him to take all his sheep, cattle, chickens, and other animals into this home.  The man and his wife complied; suddenly, there was no room for anything, and the house was filthy and noisy.  The man returned to the rabbi, reporting that life was now truly impossible.  The rabbi advised him to remove the animals, and the man once again complied.  A short time later, the rabbi met the man on the street and asked him, “How are things?”  “Wonderful,” the farmer replied, “I never realized how much room we have.”

Now godliness with contentment is great gain.   (1 Tim 6:6   NKJV)
