“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Tim 1:7 NKJV)
So Jehoiachin changed from his prison garments, and he ate bread regularly before the king all the days of his life. (2 Kings 25:29 AMP)
Although our Father created us to have an emotion of fear—the kind of fear preventing us from touching hot stoves or leaping from high places and the like—He did not give us a “spirit” (or, a reigning force) of fear. Instead, He designed us to be ruled by a spirit of “power and of love and of a sound mind” conformed to Messiah. (Rom 12:2)
Admittedly, I know all about living a fear-driven life. I was once so consumed by “a spirit of fear” that my every choice in life reflected fear of something: fear of failure, fear of lack, fear of rejection, fear of injury, fear of loss, etc. But Abba-YHWH delivered me from this evil stronghold with two very important truths. First of which, we must not feed “a spirit of fear”—we must never give in to its will—for this only enables it to grow strong enough until, eventually, it outgrows us. Secondly, we must learn to identify “a spirit of fear” quickly, understanding that it’s NOT a life-saving emotion from Elohim but an INDICATOR that Satan is lurking near. You see, we are not actually sensing our own fear but SATAN’S FEAR of Yeshua’s almighty power dwelling in US! (Col 1:27; 2:10)
Therefore, when this evil spirit bombards our minds with fearful thoughts to block our Creator’s “good plan” for our lives (Jer 29:11), let’s learn how to overcome this demonic attack by taking captive every thought to the obedience of Messiah—“The Word of YHWH”. (John 1:14; Rev 19:13) Meaning, we simply study any fearful thought patterns to reveal their life-killing, dream-stealing and destiny-destroying purpose and replace them with YHWH’s opposing Almighty Word. (John 10:10; 2 Cor 10:5; Rev 19:13) The sooner we begin pulling down these demonic strongholds (changing from our old prison garment of fear and putting on “The Word of YHWH”) the sooner we can head straight for the thing that scares Satan most—Messiah-filled people walking in their YHWH-ordained destinies, in the Name and by the Blood of Yeshua Ha’ Mashiach, Messiah Jesus of Nazareth. Amen!
By [the help of] God I will praise His word; on God I lean, rely, and confidently put my trust; I will not fear. What can man, who is flesh, do to me? (Psa 56:4 AMP)
