Bless Me With Good Judgement
By Richard Moss MD
I came upon the swirling sea, adrift in confusion,
I sought righteousness, even as wisdom fled me.
How may I render a proper conclusion,
Bless me with good judgement, O Lord, that truth I rightly see.
The people are many, I cannot know the path,
How to judge so vast a nation?
For I seek refuge from your wrath.
Lest, your mountains will chasten.
I have asked this thing, not riches,
Before the sanctuary, I bend my knee.
For the mountains have no bridges,
Bless me with good judgement, O Lord, that truth I rightly see.
I will fill my mouth with praise,
As mist, the sun burns away.
I obey you, O Lord, all my days,
Before the arc I sacrifice and pray.
I will follow you to Jerusalem,
Riches and honor you have bestowed me.
There the temple breaks the crooked stem.
Bless me with good judgement, O Lord, that truth I rightly see.
I will not split the baby, O Lord,
I will know the righteous mother.
The angels will sing as I spare the sword,
For God’s wisdom will have no other.
Thank you, Lord, for you lengthen my days,
The oceans guide me to bow before thee.
You bestow grace upon Israel as we follow your ways,
Bless me with good judgement, O Lord, that truth I rightly see.
