The average US salaries by age - How does yours stack up?

Here is the median annual salary for each age group, looking at full-time wage and salary workers:
• 16-19: $31,356
• 20-24: $37,024
• 25-34: $54,184
• 35-44: $63,908
• 45-54: $64,116
• 55-64: $61,672
• 65 and older: $57,252

This would be fine IF  the median salary in the USA right now needed to be "comfortable" didn't range from $89k on the low end in Alabama to the highest in Massachusetts at $116K...

The Federal Minimum wage is $7.25/hr. That's $15,000 a year! In most states that isn't even enough to pay rent, forget turning on the electricity, or eat...

Ironically, at the same time, there is the anti-work movement by Gen Z, Gen Y, and some Millennials... I get the frustration.. It's becoming a catch-22... You can work your ass off and make nothing or sit on it and make almost the same.

But - the incentive to get ahead SHOULD be even stronger. Go get some skills, invest in yourself even if you have to take out loans, and get higher-paying jobs. If you aren't ambitious in 2024 you may well end up homeless...

Should it be this way?
Hell no.

We are caving in our work society by disincentivizing independence and pushing laziness and dependance on government handouts and extended reliance on parents for way past 18 years.

The illegals are receiving more support than these younger generations....

Just pointing out some more daily absurdity and being grateful I was raised right with the will to pull myself up by my bootstraps expecting nothing from anyone...

Thanks Mom.
