Use all the armor and weaponry that God provides, so that you will be able to stand against the deceptive tactics of the Adversary. For we are not struggling against human beings, but against the rulers, authorities and cosmic powers governing this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. So take up every piece of war equipment God provides; so that when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist; and when the battle is won, you will still be standing. Therefore, stand! Have the BELT OF TRUTH buckled around your waist, put on RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR A BREASTPLATE, and wear on your feet the READINESS that comes from the Good News of SHALOM (PEACE). Always carry the SHIELD OF TRUST, with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the Evil One. And take the HELMET OF DELIVERANCE; along with THE SWORD given by the Spirit, that is, the Word of God; AS YOU PRAY at all times, with all kinds of prayers and requests, in the Spirit, vigilantly and persistently, for all God's people. (Eph 6:11-18 CJB.)
Because it’s written, “faith without works is dead” (James 2:26), it stands to reason that just believing in and vocally declaring all of YHWH’s “war equipment” over our lives will also be deemed “dead” (worthless, ineffective) if they, too, are without works.
You see, we have no Biblical right to: stand wrapped in His “belt of truth” unless we BE truthful; to put on Messiah’s “righteousness for a breastplate” unless we BE righteous; stand with YHWH protecting our feet (steps) by His “readiness…of Shalom” unless we BE pursuing shalom (ancient Hebrew: deliverance from the authority that binds us to chaos) at all times; stand behind His “shield of Trust” unless we BE trusting in Him; stand under His “helmet of deliverance” unless we BE delivered, never wavering in unbelief of our complete deliverance through Messiah Yeshua; nor stand wielding His all-powerful “Sword...the Word of YHWH” unless we BE both knowledgeable of AND obedient to His Word.
Furthermore, let us not miss how our Heavenly Father so strongly concludes this Scripture by revealing what all His heavenly “war equipment” is for; we are instructed to BE praying “at all times, with all kinds of prayers and requests, in the Spirit, vigilantly and persistently, for all God’s people.”
Abba-YHWH, we pray your Holy Spirit help us BE diligent in all these works every day. Let our faith not be deemed dead, nor let all Your “war equipment” be deemed dead (worthless, ineffective) in our lives, that we may stand in the day of evil. In the name of Yeshua Ha’ Mashiach, Messiah Jesus of Nazareth, amen!
