Come Down to Earth
September 2024
By Richard Moss MD
You haven’t been the same,
Your eyes don’t look into mine.
You are wandering and lost,
And you don’t seem fine.
It was better before,
You remember the score.
You looked at me,
There was magic to see.
Everything was light,
Like a sun, you were bright.
You took my breath away,
You made me falter and sway.
Come down to earth,
Sweet lady.
Come down to earth right now.
I need you here, like a flower needs rain.
I will never abandon you despite the pain.
Come down to earth right now.
You grasped my hand,
There was magic in the air.
You came to me,
We were meant to be a pair.
If I hurt you,
I didn’t mean to.
If I let you down,
I won’t do it again.
I can live forever in the magic of your gaze,
I can stay with you the rest of my days.
All I need is your sweet sweet smile
For that I would climb a mile.
Come down to earth,
Sweet lady.
Come down to earth right now.
I need you here, like a flower needs rain.
I will never abandon you despite the pain.
Come down to earth right now.
If I could stand in your presence,
And hold you near.
I would never give up,
Your magic and flair.
I would surrender my life,
To be next to you.
To bask in your magic,
To lose it would be tragic.
All I ask is that you come down to earth,
Stay with me here,
I will never leave you,
I swear.
Come down to earth sweet lady,
And never depart.
I swear my life to you,
And give you my heart.
I would spend my days in the wonder of your gaze.
And never lose sight of you despite the haze.
Come down to earth, sweet lady.
I need you like a flower needs rain.
I will never abandon you despite the pain.
Come down to earth, right now.
Don’t push me away,
I need you here like a flower needs rain.
