What is time? Well let me see...
It could be expensive, it's certainly not free
When did it start? When did it begin?
There's the sun and the moon but what made the clock spin?
Perhaps it began when the old serpent came
Breathing lies half-truths, accusations and blame
Beguiling the young woman the couple did sin
Their eyes wide open beholding their skin
Eve transgressed with misguided thought
Perfect already now death they had brought
Ashamed and afraid they made dress of figleeves
Hiding from God in their sinful disease
Questions were asked the answers well known
"It was the woman you gave me because I was alone"
The first innocent sacrifice to hide their shame
Kicked out of The Garden and never the same
When eternity on Earth was stopped with a bite
Now time had begun as well as our plight
A thousand years to the Lord and so is a day
But for Mankind time infects with sinful decay
Ever learning but rarely coming to the light
The day is far spent now we're left to the night...
